“Vogue” in the Overlook Gallery; Works by Courtney Kolker
Dates: April 8 – May 5th, 2019
Opening Reception and Meet the Artists: Friday, April 12th, 5-8pm
Free and open to the public
During April, the Arlington Artists Alliance is proud to present “Vogue,” a solo show of works from Courtney Kolker, in our Overlook Gallery. Courtney Kolker is known for her vibrant use of color in the abstract and this exciting collection is inspired by the combination of timeless Vogue covers from around the world. Kolker works with acrylics on canvas, palette knives, poly foam brushes, and her hands. Her artwork explores the ability of color to arrange and illustrate her perspective of a particular moment. Kolker’s creative process allows her to connect with a moment in time, whether it be past or forthcoming, or even complete fantasy, which is exactly what she wants for the viewer to experience upon seeing a particular work – to be able to achieve an intimate, emotional connection every time.
Additionally, our April Member Show in the Main Gallery will exhibit new works by our member artists, including paintings, sculpture, glass, jewelry, ceramics, photography, metalwork and woodworking.
This exhibition runs from April 5 – May 5, 2019 with the Opening Reception on Friday, April 12th, from 5 – 8PM.
